Composite manufacturing for the automotive sector replaces conventional metal parts with lighter, corrosion-resistant and freely shaped components. Carbon Composites has worked for decades on projects connected to MAN, Daimler and the Volkswagen Group, delivering parts that combine industrial quality with economical production.

Why composites make sense in vehicle manufacturing

For buses, vans and special vehicles, weight reduction directly improves efficiency while corrosion resistance reduces long-term maintenance. A composite bumper, fender or roof component can provide the required stiffness and appearance while remaining significantly lighter than steel and easier to integrate into complex designs.

In practice, this means exterior panels, cabin extensions, interior trims and special superstructures. We do not build consumer aftermarket hobby parts; we support industrial customers that need stable quality, reliable lead times and a partner that understands tooling, manufacturing and finishing as one process.

What we deliver

Our key advantage is vertical integration. A vehicle manufacturer does not need separate suppliers for tooling, composite production, CNC trimming and painting. We manage the chain under one roof, from master model and mould production to painted parts prepared for installation.

The selected process depends on geometry, volume and performance requirements. RTM is ideal for exterior panels where both sides require good surfaces and repeatable series quality. PU-RIM is effective for certain interior or impact-loaded parts. Our in-house 5-axis CNC capacity shortens development time and improves process control.

References and cooperation model

We have produced composite bumpers and fenders for MAN for many years, illustrating the kind of long-term supply partnership we value. For Volkswagen commercial vehicles we have manufactured cabin extensions, hardtops and special structures, often in low or medium volumes that require flexibility without sacrificing quality.

Automotive projects usually start with a drawing, CAD model or functional requirement. Our engineers review the part, recommend the right material and production route, and support prototype validation before serial tooling and delivery planning. With ISO-controlled processes and OEM-facing experience, we provide traceable, production-ready composite solutions for industrial mobility projects.
